Grief and Loss
Get Help Today
Teens experiencing the loss of someone they love at an early age can be devastatingly painful. Losing a mother, father, sister, brother, best friend, or pet hurts so badly. Your teen may become withdrawn or depressed or perhaps anxious about their safety and the safety of those they love. Grief can also come in the form of a relationship ending, moving, or physical abilities/participation in sports due to an injury.
The most important step that you can take right now is to make that first appointment and allow us to help your teen get through this so that the pain becomes more manageable. This will prevent them from shutting down or worse yet experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide. Through empirically proven treatments such as Mindfulness, Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy your teen will feel better and get some relief. If your teen is not ready to come in for help, it is perfectly appropriate and advisable that you, as their parent, come in for an initial consultation appointment to discuss your concerns and get advice as to how to help your teen.
