Prior to starting therapy an initial consultation/assessment is conducted to determine a “game plan” to address the problem. During the initial private consultation appointment, you will be asked questions in a respectful, sensitive way to determine if individual or family therapy would be helpful for your situation. Parents often find it comforting to know that they can initially meet with the doctor or therapist to discuss their concerns without their child present. Many people use this initial meeting as a way to gain an understanding of what therapy is all about.
Doctors and therapists with McCaskill Family Services are out-of-network with insurance companies. However, they do have BC/BS provider numbers to facilitate reimbursement. It is customary to pay for professional services when they are rendered. Many insurance plans cover all or part of the costs of psychological services. If you expect to file for direct reimbursement from your insurance company, our office staff will provide you with a suitable receipt to submit.
