ADHD symptoms commonly include:
  • Distractibility
  • Over-activity
  • Disorganization
  • Impulsivity
  • Absent-mindedness
  • Forgetfulness

However, depending on the age of the person and their circumstances, any of these also can be symptoms of another disorder, such as a learning disability, anxiety, or depression, if not identified correctly.

ADHD Testing near me

ADHD in children and adults is often unidentified or misdiagnosed.

Please do not rely solely on questionnaires administered by your physician. We conduct comprehensive evaluations in order to make sure that these symptoms are actually the result of the neurological condition ADHD ( rather than one of the various "mimicking" conditions). Treating symptoms that resemble ADHD when it is not ADHD can be harmful to you or your child.

Not treating ADHD, because you didn’t know you had it, is also harmful.

Just because you can pay attention, sit still, and can organize your belongings does not mean that you do not have ADHD. If someone in your family has ADHD (or suspected ADHD), it is even more important to get an evaluation since ADHD is hereditary and runs in families. We will conduct a very thorough neuropsychological evaluation in order to determine if you have ADHD and we will tell you exactly what to do. We specialize in ADHD assessment and treatment (without medication, but can recommend when medication might be considered). If it is not ADHD, the evaluation will determine what is going on and provide you with a detailed plan on how to improve your situation.

If you or your child has been properly diagnosed with ADHD, we can help you to know what to do next.

After ADHD testing, treatment for ADHD does not necessarily involve just medication or therapy. By meeting with one of our expert ADHD clinicians, we will work with you and your child to first teach you what pieces need to be in place and then how to get them in place. ADHD therapy involves working with you, your child’s teachers, and your child to collaboratively develop intervention plans so that your child will excel in school, improve their behavior and reach their highest potential.
