Death of a Sibling

Losing a sibling may be a totally different level of pain and grief than you have ever experienced. You want to speak to your brother or sister again or hold them one more time and you can’t. You may have regrets for things you said or didn’t say, did or didn’t do. Losing a sibling is a loss of someone who has been with you since your were a child. No one knows your childhood that way you sibling did.

The pain comes and goes in waves and you may feel like it is too much to handle and you cannot go on. We often describe grief of losing a sibling as the most intense physical pain you have ever experienced without the option to go the emergency room for pain relief medication.

You are not alone and we can help you. The most important step that you can take right now is to make that first appointment and allow us to get you through this so that the pain becomes more manageable and you can begin to function better. Through empirically proven treatments such as Mindfulness, Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Therapy you will feel better and get some relief.
