Ellen Koch, Ph.D.**

Dr. Ellen Koch is a fully licensed clinical psychologist who practices evidenced-based treatments for adolescents and adults.

In particular, Dr. Koch has experience and expertise in behavioral and cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) modalities such as exposure-based treatments for anxiety disorders and PTSD, interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) for depression, and interventions related to the interaction between physical and mental health. Additionally, Dr. Koch has both clinical and research experience in effective treatments for PTSD and the role of anxiety sensitivity in the development of anxiety and mood disorders.

Here is a bit of background on Koch:

Dr. Koch earned her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees from Western Michigan University. She also completed specialized training in CBT for anxiety disorders, behavioral medicine, and PTSD at the University of Michigan Hospital, Department of Psychiatry from 2001-2003.

In addition to her clinical practice at McCaskill Family Services, Dr. Koch is a tenured Professor in the Department of Psychology at Eastern Michigan University where she has been employed since 2003 and has served as the Director of Clinical Training for the doctoral program in clinical psychology since 2007. Dr. Koch teaches courses to the doctoral students related to assessment and treatment and provides clinical supervision to doctoral students at a community health clinic. She has published journal articles and book chapters related to effective treatments for anxiety disorders. Dr. Koch will also begin serving on the national accrediting association for psychology programs through the American Psychological Association in 2016.

Dr. Ellen Koch is the Number 1 International Expert in the US for Short-Term Exposure Treatment for Anxiety. Her work was recently featured on Good Morning America.
